Menopause

Carolyn’s menopause started when she was 19. Yep, you read that right.

Having gone undiagnosed for over a decade and, when she finally was, finding the professional support on offer woefully inadequate, it ignited her passion for a topic that most carefully avoid.

Now an advocate, author and speaker on the subject, Carolyn is determined to talk about this taboo to help women – and men – get the support they need.

Redefining S.E.L.F.I.S.H

Carolyn’s model was borne of a need to help women to shift their mindset about the concept of SELFISHness. Viewing it instead as essential to the pursuit of being your best self, her approach will ensure you’re better placed to care for others in your life by starting with you.

The elements of the S.E.L.F.I.S.H. model provide practical ways to prioritise yourself via a few simple steps and doing so guilt-free.

The MENopause: supporting men to support women

For every woman that goes through the menopause, there will be a man in her life – partner, sibling, child, boss, employee, friend – who is wondering what the hell is happening to her.

Men, we cannot expect you to understand the menopause unless we take you with us on the journey. By creating spaces for you to learn and discuss this issue as well as get your questions answered – without getting your head bitten off – we have the best chance of tackling the taboo and providing a supportive environment for women during this challenging time in their lives.

Carolyn’s programmes provide information, discussion and question opportunities in a male-friendly environment to help you understand why your roles matter in the menopause.

It’s never too early to understand.

MEN(opause) AT WORK: programmes for Corporate clients

Menopause in the workplace is fast becoming a hot topic – no pun intended!

When surveyed * :

  • 99% of women stated their menopause had impacted their work
  • 59% said they had taken time off due to symptoms
  • 12% had resigned as a direct result

Providing programmes tailored to corporate clients, Carolyn brings decades of HR and business experience – as well as a much-needed dollop of pragmatism and humour – to what would otherwise be a tricky subject.

Creating comfortable spaces to tackle this taboo, Carolyn works at all business levels and with diverse audiences, both online and in person.

Because forewarned is forearmed.

Carolyn’s own experience highlights that it’s never too early to understand about the menopause. By understanding the signs, symptoms and strategies through education and discussion, the mystery and fear can be minimised in women’s lives – making them more physically and emotionally resilient to the inevitability of this key life stage.

Providing both online and in-person educational talks, Carolyn’s open style and humour engage younger audiences by encouraging them to take some time out to think about their future health.
