Who is The Midlife Mistress?

The Midlife Mistress

A passionate, empathetic and thought-provoking change catalyst.

For 25 years I climbed the corporate ladder. Bigger roles. The World’s largest employers. High-profile brands. All the way to the Board. I did everything I ‘should’.

Then, I stopped.

I was bored of the bullsh*t. Tired of playing the game by someone else’s rules. It was time to let The Midlife Mistress loose!

My Story: How I became The Midlife Mistress

The Midlife Mistress

The Job. The House. The Car. The Family.

I looked like I had it all.

Until my world imploded. I imploded.

From the Boardroom to the Bedroom, I’d met a lot of twats. I’d been one too. It was time for change.

The Midlife Mistress was born.

Stepping Up. Speaking Out. Becoming a change catalyst.

The Midlife Manifesto

The Midlife Mistress

The Midlife Mistress community are like-valued people, all working to make positive changes in their lives – at home or at work – or both!

Central to our philosophy is the belief that we should only accept into our life people who are enablers and positive contributors, and removing those that are not.

It’s important that we have a shared understanding of what’s expected of each of us in this community both for how we behave towards ourselves and others.

Midlife Manifesto

These are:

  • I live my life on my terms, not based on the expectations of others – my (mid)life matters;
  • I’m a leader – always of myself and sometimes of others – and role model so I ensure my impact is positive;
  • I’m responsible for defining what ‘fulfilment’ means to me and doing what is necessary to achieve that;
  • I live without regret, so I think and behave accordingly;
  • I take life seriously, but myself less so – fun and laughter are central tenets of how I live;
  • Physical change and mindset change go hand-in-hand, so I work on both;
  • Mistakes are necessary and acceptable, but repeated mistakes are not, so I commit to continuously learning;
  • Excess baggage slows down progress, so I won’t be a passenger – either in my life or this community;
  • Positivity comes from knowing that I can handle the bad days as well as enjoy the good; I will be constructive about me and always toward others.
